Wacky & Wonderful Wednesdays - Play With Your Geeks

It is Wednesday at last, the day we affectionately call "Hump Day"... but not too affectionately if you know what I mean. This is the day I get to let my geek flag fly proudly and show off some of the most awesome items that fall into the category lovingly labeled 'Geekery'. I would refer you to the definition on Wikipedia, but that would be too nerdy even for me. Basically, this is the reclaiming of nerd culture, reveling in all things techie and intellectual, and a celebration of all those hyper obsessed with gadgetry, gaming, and collecting. These are my people, and I am willing to bet they are your people too. Everyone knows that geek is the new chic, and this is the day of the week that features all those fab objects of desire that celebrate the 'in-jokes', the 'out there' fun, and the suddenly celebrated 'beyond' the mainstream.
Ever wish you could carry your heroes in your laptop bag? Hold your icons in your hands? Have the cast of a favorite show share your cubicle with you? Well now you can, and I am going to tell you how, isn't that magnanimous of me? If you mosey on over to Etsy and visit Paper Pal you can bring home your very own Steve Jobs paper-doll, fully assembled with articulated arms and legs. That's right kids, for less than $9.00 USD/CAD you can have the ever inspiring late co-founder of Apple Inc. sit in your cubicle and help you make all those important decisions, like whether to use Google Chrome or stay with Firefox. Deep thoughts!
What if you could be a part of the cast of your favorite television workplace? Invite the cast of The Office over to your place and you can utter endlessly entertaining "Schrute-isms" and create as many awkward moments with Michael as possible, just imagine the possibilities. Hang this gang of four Paper Pals on your fridge [Dwight, Michael, Pam, and Jim] and let them watch over your Nutella Sandwiches.
Hope to LLAP? That would be "Live Long & Prosper" for all the non-Trekkie folks out there, as if? Spock can be your wing-man, set him up on your cars' sun-visor and you can have him there to co-pilot your very own Enterprise. He's a real 'Babe Magnet', if you like your 'Babes' geeky, and who doesn't. Am I right?
For those of you more Star Wars inclined, as I myself am, you can face off with a Storm Trooper while brushing your teeth each morning. Tack one of these battle ready bad-boys to your bathroom mirror and you can turn your tooth brush into a Light Sabre and save the galaxy from the evil Empire, all before breakfast.
I admit I am having a little too much fun with this post perhaps, but you have to admit, these hand-drawn, handmade, and relatively inexpensive dolls are downright awesome. Designed by Izabela Stafford from Lomita, California, you can find these and so many more fab Paper Pals in her Etsy shop. Ranging from $8.00 to $10.00 USD per doll, you can grab up the cast of LOST, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, or take home Freddy Krueger or Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, there are so many 'Pals' to choose from. You can even get custom commissioned dolls made by Izabela of you or a friend for a very reasonable price considering it is an original hand-drawn work of art in the form of fun. Dash over to Paper Pals on Etsy to check out the fab geeky goods.
